Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. Disch Tree Experts holds NJ Licensed Tree Care Operator #567 and carries full liability and workers’ comp insurance. We’ll send a Certificate of Insurance to you (or your property manager) before any job starts — just ask.
Do you offer free estimates?
Always. Billy or Kyle walks the property, talks through what you want, looks at access for the truck and crane, and writes you an itemized quote. No charge, no pressure.
How much does tree removal cost?
It depends on size, species, location relative to your house and wires, and what you want done with the wood. Most residential removals fall between $500 and $3,500. Large hazardous trees over a structure can run higher because they need crane support. We always price the job, never per hour, and you see the number before we start.
How fast can you respond to storm damage?
We answer the phone 24/7. If a tree is on a house, on a car, or blocking your driveway, we treat it as same-day priority. After major storms we stage crews and equipment so we can roll the second a call comes in.
What about cleanup — will my yard be a mess?
No. All brush is chipped on site and hauled away the same day. Logs are cut to manageable lengths and either taken with us or stacked wherever you want them at no extra charge. We rake the work area before we leave — you should not be picking up our sawdust on Monday morning.
Do you grind stumps too?
Yes, in-house. Most of the time we grind the stump the same day as the removal. If we can’t (tight access, ground too wet), we’ll come back within a week. Grinding goes 6–12″ below grade so you can re-seed or re-plant.
When’s the best time to prune?
For most species, late winter or early spring while the tree is still dormant. Oaks are the exception — they should only be pruned between November and February in New Jersey to avoid attracting beetles that spread oak wilt. We will tell you honestly if your tree should wait.
Will the work damage my lawn?
We use plywood mats under the bucket truck and outriggers when the ground is soft, and we stage equipment on driveways or the street whenever possible. Some compaction is normal in the immediate work area; visible turf damage is rare and we’ll tell you up front if a job is high-risk for it.

All of Central New Jersey. Most jobs are in Middlesex, Somerset, and Union counties — Piscataway, Edison, New Brunswick, Highland Park, South Plainfield, Bridgewater, Westfield, Metuchen, and surrounding towns. Outside that radius? Still call — we travel for the right job.
